At 16, Rayo de Sol became Magdiel's lifeline. Their support propelled her through 5 years of university, making her the first and only woman in her family to graduate. Rayo de Sol empowered her to break barriers and chase her dreams.
Now, Magdiel proudly returns the favor. Joining the Rayo de Sol team allows her to use her skills and witness firsthand the organization's transformative work. Their approach – a living gospel of hope and love – inspires her daily. Rayo de Sol continues to be a place of growth, where Magdiel's journey as a learner and a giver is just beginning.

Griscelda López, a young woman from El Carrizo, had to leave school after the sixth grade due to economic difficulties. After more than ten years, she joined Rayo de Sol’s scholarship program in 2022 to pursue her high school degree and quickly excelled.
Through the Community Development Program, Griscelda started a biointensive garden, initially to feed her family, but soon expanded to selling produce and ornamental plants. With a small loan and a drip irrigation system from Rayo de Sol, she now runs a thriving business and continues her education with the dream of studying agronomy.

In 2023, we began our work at Tomás Borge school in one of the most impoverished areas of Matagalpa. During an early medical clinic, we encountered the Sánchez children—Juan, María, and Jorlene—who were severely underweight and suffered from anemia and intestinal parasites. We immediately enrolled them in our school nutrition program and provided additional monthly food for their family.
With regular monitoring and nutritious meals, the children have shown remarkable improvement in health and school performance. Their parents are deeply grateful, having prayed for such support. Stories like these inspire our staff daily to ensure every child in our programs receives the care they need for a successful future.

Joshua, a thirteen-year-old from Las Lomas, lives with his grandparents, mother, and four siblings. Although he is in the sixth grade, he should be in high school but fell behind due to working to support his family, including picking coffee during harvest time.
Determined to continue his education, Joshua now benefits from Rayo de Sol's support, receiving nutritious meals and developing a love for reading. He actively participates in the school's reading club, dreams about his future, writes compositions in his free time, and shares his work with his younger siblings. Our Educational Quality Program aims to make learning exciting and inspire children like Joshua to stay in school and dream big, and we are incredibly proud of his dedication.
