Without question, the quality of education in any school is directly related to teacher performance. We work closely with teachers in each school to identify their greatest needs and respond with relevant training and technical assistance in the classroom.
Teachers in Nicaragua have limited access to professional development resources, so our goal is to provide methodological and technical support for teachers, in order to help them improve their performance. After each training session, classroom visits are planned to ensure that teachers are equipped to implement new strategies and methodologies effectively. This is done in close coordination with the administrative and technical staff of the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education.
We have seen clearly that improved teacher performance leads to higher attendance, retention and promotion rate in the public school system. Over the past five years, we have documented significant improvements in teacher performance, which has significantly impacted the quality of education for thousands of children.
