Making the gospel clear and guiding others in their faith
We believe that the most devastating form of poverty faced by all human beings alike is not economic but spiritual poverty. True peace and hope comes not from having more money, but from knowing Christ and being reconciled with God. We praise the Lord for the fact that many Nicaraguans already possess extraordinary faith, but there is still great need for discipleship and spiritual guidance, especially for the youth.
In Proverbs 22:6 it says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” By teaching kids in our community fundamental truths about God from an early age, we give them a solid foundation for the rest of their lives. This is done though games, videos, and fun activities that keep the children engaged as they learn about the One who loved them enough to lay down His own life.
The teenage years can be a tumultuous time, especially when growing up in a rough neighborhood. Through our partnership with Young Life, we encourage youth to turn away from the risk behaviors that ensnare many of their peers and instead pursue Christ. Through fun weekly meetings, youth camps, and one-on-one discipleship, young men and women are guided in their faith and learn what it means to live for Christ.
In youth workshops, we apply the Word of God to the struggles and risk factors that teens in our community face every day. Covering topics such as domestic violence, self-esteem, and teen pregnancy, we seek to show youth how to live healthier lives by applying biblical truth.
Mentoring for Parents
At the end of the day, parents are in a better position to disciple their children than any church or ministry will ever be. Acknowledging this fact, we seek to equip parents with everything they need in order to create a healthy family environment for their children where the teachings of the Bible are put into action.
