Thank You to Smart Mouth FoodsTimes were getting hard at the beginning of 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting, we were concerned that fundraising totals for the year would be severely reduced, so we were forced to scale back some of the critical services that we provide to families in Nicaragua.
However, God provided for the needs of the ministry yet again through a generous gift from Smart Mouth Foods. It was a tremendous blessing and relief to both us and the families we serve, and it came at just the right time. In this video, we hear from some of the teachers, parents, and students who lives have been impacted positively by the kindness and compassion shown by our friends at Smart Mouth Foods.

Rosario's Story: A New BeginningRosario felt trapped in depression due to a family crisis and the looming political instability in Nicaragua at the time. In her moment of despair, she found hope in the loving prayer support of the Rayo de Sol team walking alongside her and encouraging her. She learned to garden in our biointensive gardening trainings and even purchased a subsidized rain harvesting tank that now provides clean water for her family and her plants.
Rosario's garden is now a beautiful picture of her own personal transformation: what was once dry and barren land is now flourishing and bursting with color!

As Surely as the Sun Will RiseThe summer of 2018 was an extremely difficult time in Nicaragua due to a political crisis that threw the country into chaos. Thanks to the generosity, prayers, and support of the Rayo de Sol family, we were able to quickly respond to urgent needs in the areas of food security, medical attention, water distribution, and income generation.
We're now moving beyond the crisis, believing that "as surely as the sun will rise" (Hosea 6:3), God will bring healing and restoration to Nicaragua. We're excited for all that the Lord will do in 2019, and we invite you to be part of His light breaking into Nicaragua after the darkness of this past summer.
"Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth."
