Because access to health services is limited, we want to ensure that children have access to quality medical services. We work with local physicians to provide two medical check-ups during the school year to screen for basic illnesses.
During the medical check-ups, children receive medications for common pathologies as needed. Treatment for parasites, which is a common illness that can have a significant impact on health, is also administered. Additionally, height and weight data is taken to track nutritional conditions.
Children who have chronic or acute medical conditions are provided with specialized treatment. Treatment and follow-up are determined on a case by case basis, consulting with local health professionals. Treatment may include consultations with specialists, exams, special medications or even surgery.
